Makes 1 large pizza · Serves 2 · About 25 minutes, plus oven preheating
Ingredients
- 1 ready-to-use pizza dough ball, about 250g
- A little flour, for shaping
- 3 tbsp pizza sauce
- 125g mozzarella, drained well and torn
- 40g sliced pepperoni
- 1–2 tbsp Riot Hive Hot Honey
- A handful of fresh basil leaves
Make it
- Heat your oven to 240°C, or 220°C fan, with a heavy baking tray inside. Follow your dough packet instructions if they differ.
- On a lightly floured surface, stretch the dough into a roughly 28–30cm circle. Place on a lightly floured baking tray or transfer carefully to the hot tray with a pizza peel.
- Spread with the pizza sauce, leaving a small border. Scatter over the mozzarella and pepperoni.
- Bake for about 10–14 minutes, until the crust is golden and cooked through and the cheese is bubbling. Check your dough instructions and adjust the time to your oven.
- Remove from the oven, drizzle with Hot Honey and scatter over the basil. Slice and serve straight away.
The sweet spot
Add your hot honey after baking for a glossy finish without scorching the sugars. Start with one tablespoon, then turn up the sweet heat to taste.
For a meat-free version, swap the pepperoni for roasted peppers and olives.
